Upgrade your Empowering Technology

During my usual rounds of what’s out there concerning Acer, I came across this forum post where you can upgrade the Empowering Technology from version 1.0 to version 2.0. The guy who posted it did it successfully on his Aspire 5672.
There’s even a video showing you how it looks (you might want to open it on the YouTube page and expand it to full screen as the quality isn’t that good).
If any of you decide this is worth it (the upgrade links all point to Acer Support Site), let me know how you get on.
While I’m on the subject of upgrading, has anyone actually upgraded to Windows Vista on their Acer yet? If there’s anyone out there that has I’d love to know how you got on and how easy/difficult it was.

I have an acer aspire 3680, I have vista and recently upgraded it. I had just gotten used to vista, and when I upgraded i began having problems the next day. In fact, I crashed for about 3 days. I think this was because when I upgraded, I got this weird download from microsoft (supposedly) that has turned my computer into a publishing site for them. I have so many bugs now it is ridiculous!!Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?? It put a hardware device into my network called Microsoft Publishing Client .Please write to me if you have ever heard of this !! amberbambina@yaho.com…AMBER

Microsoft did some stupid things sometimes, never seen that it added the publishing device for me at all, maybe because I have always used a clean install…
See if you can uninstall or disble the device in the device manager (to get to device manager run “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes)
What other problems you have?
