the virtual space merging is only available in the linpus edition, it is a software limitation.

have a flash light look in the SD card slot, check if the write lock detection pin is not bent or anything of that nature.

Hi All: I have an Aspire One with the 8 GB solid state hard drive plus a 8GB SD card in the left hand slot, running Windows XP. Machine overall is great, but I’m having a problem with accessing the 8 GB SD card in the left hand SD slot. I thought that the second SD card would be managed to appear as part of the internal 8 GB C:drive – essentially making a virtual 16 GB C: drive. That is not happening. But if I try to write to that drive directly, I get a “drive is write protected” message (lock is not on the SD card). So I effectively cannot access the card in the left hand SD slot.

Any thoughts on this? So far ACER support has been no help. And all of the reviews I read of systems with this drive configuration are running the Linux OS. Does it work differently under XP?

can i install any form of windows on my notebook?
i dont like aspire one its too hard to adjust too and i dont like the msn that comes on it if i could download windows xp can you please let me know how to do so

I have tried numerous times to get vlc installed and is seems to install but cannot find it after the installation… Am I missing something?
The instructions on the Acer website for the 110Ab seems straight forward, but it does say it is not guaranteed to work on this machine…. Any clues?

I tried to install Virtual Box on my Aspire 1, but the installation doesnt complete, instead it gives an error saying my present kernel may not support the program

you can only view video if you purchase codecs from acer, or you can instal vlc player

okay…just need a straight answer:

Bought the acer aspire 1, complete with Media master.
Needed it to take on a critical biz trip. Needed mostly to show a very short but vital video clip.

Unable to open anything .mov, .wvm, .avi…

The unit is at the airport now, awaiting boarding call and a quick download of the vid file from here.

Out of the box, no time to screw around, what video format will work? Now.

if you are talking about the windows, then yes, it will work fine, only limitation is the hardware processing horse power, I believe sims 1 runs fine on low graphics settings, and unplayable(reported by some users) for sims 2

but you never know, he/she might had stuff like antiviruses Nort… cough..cough.. instaled to slow the game down.

I am running XP with the SSD and able to run Halo on low settings, just to give you an idea on ther power that AA1 is got
