I can help but I'm sorry but I need a lot more information than that (Destress please I'll help you out) hopefully this applies.....(unsure). Discuss your modem please (probably the main concern), also how have you tried connecting them et cetera.
You have set up a wireless network to secure it, first write down every detail like set passwords so you won't be at a loss, next type 192.168.1.1 into your internet browser and the default should be admin for username and for it's password. That is lowercase admin (case sensitive). Here you can set passwords for access and so on. I recommend WPA2-Personal and AES for encryption.
Tell me if you set up a secure network, and tell me of your modem and your attempt there.

@ KO

If set correctly try Left Alt + Shift.
Otherwise type change keyboard into the searchBar on your computer then select german. If you are on a different operating system than windows 7 then go to the Control Panel and then select "Clock, Language, and Region" then change keyboard. Reply if fixed, or if you still have a problem.

I just got an Acer Aspire 5253 laptop for Christmas....I have an Linksys Wireless N Broadband Router, model #WRT150N...I have tried for the last several days to hook up my wireless router to the laptop...and I'm about ready to chuck everything out the window.....I've hooked up all the cables accordingly and the laptop shows I have a connection, but no internet access, plus no secure line....also my desktop is not showing internet access when its hooked up via the wireless router as well....but when I disconnect the router from the desktop and the laptop and hook back up my modem...I get internet access back to my desktop AND when I take the modem cable and hook it up directly to my laptop, I have internet access as well.....I'm at a LOSS and its driving me nuts, all I want is to be able to hook up my wireless router to my laptop....PLEASE HELP!!!! I've read several inputs and nothing makes sense to me and I don't know what to try or do to correct this. My wireless network adapter on my laptop is Atheros AR5B97 and the Aspire has Windows 7 on it....Thanks so much!

thanks for the update (below) , try this guys

"there’s a power saving option on the wireless adapter that is turned to maximum by default. To turn it off, right click my computer > properties > hardware tab > device manager… then find your wireless adapter in the list under Network Adapters, right click > properties > advanced tab. Select Power Save Mode from the list on the left and select Off from the drop down on the right. Press OK and close device manager"

this worked for me, i was ready to throw mine through the window...

best gaz
