Windows Vista DreamScene is one of the Vista Ultimate Extras. I bet people will love it a lot because they can put video as desktop background.
Btw you may find that your Vista DreamScene is no longer working after you have updated your Acer Arcade Deluxe using below live update service.
Every time Vista starts DreamScene service below error message will be shown in the task bar.
The problem is when updating Acer Arcade Deluxe it will reset the default decoder of MPEG1 and MPEG2.
To solve this problem, you must set the default of MPEG1 and MPEG2 decoder to “libmpeg2” or “libavcodec”. You can use the configuration panel of the existing codec package or any softwares you have installed that has feature to manage video decoders to set them. In this article I will use Vista Codec Package. Here are the steps:
Reinstall any codec package you have installed.
Download Vista Codec Package from http://shark007.net/vistacodecpackage.html it will install all codecs you need.
3. Open Video Decoder Configuration
4. Change the default decoder of MPEG1 and MPEG2 to either “libmpeg2” or “libavcodec”.
Now you can run your Vista DreamScene!

Thank you, thank you, thank you again. This has been driving me NUTS since I used Anytime upgrade a few weeks ago. I had no idea it’d be down to Acer Arcade Deluxe but it makes sense now. Followed your steps and resolved in 2 minutes, if only I’d found this site a few weeks ago! Added to favourites now…
