Thanks for the tutorial. I'm confident that I would be able to carry the procedure out however there is no space between the connector pins on the PCI slot to fit any sort of thin piece of metal like a bobby pin into. From your picture you seem to have a different PCI connector slot from me... any suggestions on how to attach the wires because I don't want to solder directly onto the motherboard? Thanks.

thank you
following your guide I had my USB bluetooth inabled internaly

I needed to change the red wire to a 5v point just under the pci slot cause my bluetooth dongle did not work on 3.3v
any way it is working just fine with bluesoliel softwear.
any ideas about the lounch manager version for Aspire 5720.

@Nick421,

Every laptop/netbook has there OWN version of launch manager, the keycodes to enable disable devices may be different therefore you should not try with the netbook.

This patch, as far as I can remember, DOES NOT work with the Acer Aspire One A110 from the start, I doubt that it will ever be possible to so so universal to the point to cover netbooks too.

Best of luck to you,
Morris Lee

Followed the guide for my Acer Aspire One 532h-2588 netbook. I soldered directly to the motherboard, and took 5 volt from the USB because mini pci-e seems to only have 1.5 or 3.3 volt.

Anyway, the bluetooth works fine, but the bluetooth button doesn't work of course. I use LM 3.0 and windows 7, so I tried all versions 12.0 and up of the patch just to be sure. It makes LM complain of a missing dll after I run the patch. Then I have to reinstall LM to get it working with anything again. I didn't realize LM was so much different for all the different models.

Mini cards. Two mini card slots.
One supports a wireless module, the other a TV, 3G or MPEG decoder module, 3G sim card support.

Sorry, this didn't paste, I had to type it in.

@ Morris

Some of the 5920's have a TV card too. The Aver Media type. It's also in mini PCI express format.

I thought about fitting one, but there is no opening in the right hand side (RHS) of this 5920. (Page nineteen of the user manual shows the port for the TV aerial.)

Actually I have just this moment had another look in the service manual and copied this:

@Steve,

actually, it is there for different models, some models comes with the intel turbo memory, and that is where it belongs. other models will just come with the empty port.

Is that just a completely unused PCIE slot?

I would think things like that would either be used or removed in something as space conscious as a laptop.
