Barack Obama's Day
So today’s the day.

A large and not insignificant slice of history is in the making, right here on our screens, across the world.

I’m not a particularly enthusiastic political activist. If I told you how many times I’d voted in my life, I think I’d be shunned off the face of the earth. But today’s different. It’s not about politics – it’s beyond that. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language defines an era as “A period of time characterized by particular circumstances, events, or personages“. Today, then, without a shadow of doubt, marks the start of the Barack Obama era.

To say that the entire world has huge expectations of this man is by no means an understatement. The impact of his nomination as the 44th President of The United States was felt across the world and I don’t think it’s unfair to say that many if not most of the people outside the US wished their own leaders had half as much charisma as Barack does. I know I did.

So today’s the day it all changes. From now on, there is hope at a global level. Hope that we can now start writing our own destiny, and while we’re at it change the course of human history.

Good luck Barack.
