That title wasn’t meant to scare you – but prepare you. Acer have put together a specific page to deal with Acer owners wishing to upgrade to the latest Operating System from Microsoft. You can find it here: http://www.acer.com/windows7/eng/ If you click on the link or picture above you’ll see that the page is divided [...]
OK guys, trust me. This is the phone you’ve been waiting for. For those of you disappointed with the neoTouch, Acer is about to launch the perfect solution. We went through dozens of names before senior management gave us the OK for Liquid which we all really like. If any of you are curious as [...]
Website Tip: How To Get Your Own Avatar Pic In The Comments

One of the features I enabled for The Acer Guy when I had the site redesigned was avatars in the comments — or little picture boxes to add a bit of personal flair to postings. The default box is that blue inverted G you keep seeing, which can get a bit dull when the comments [...]

Just came across this review of the all-new neoTouch S200 from the guys at PhoneArena. Just saw the comments and the phone list with Steve Balmer, Bill Gates, Steve jobs and Megan Fox is pretty funny. Anyway, the review is the best one I’ve found so far (until The Acer Guy reviewers finally get off [...]

Introduction: The most anticipated Microsoft Windows has arrived! Windows 7 will allow current machines perform better and faster than its predecessor – Vista ugh!! Sure enough, like XP or Vista before it, people feared having to adapt to a new work environment, but really, the Windows family has been pretty much the same until now. [...]

OK I’m going to start the ball rolling here.
As many of you know, tomorrow 22nd October, Windows 7 goes on sale in its final public release version.
In one of the most recent product presentations (AIO), I remember the product manager saying that one of the biggest complaints about Vista was that it was so damned power hungry.

Today’s my birthday – big number, don’t ask – and I’m taking the day off to spend time with my family. It’s a tradition I picked up from an old acquaintance and try to maintain every year. It’s not always possible but this year it looks like I’m going to get away with it. But [...]

After a very busy (and slightly rushed if we’re honest) development schedule, I’m happy to announce the latest arrival to the Acer collection of mini-websites, acer.com/mobile.
This is where we’re going to be showcasing all the latest info on Acer’s new smartphone line up, which for now includes the beTouch E100/101, beTouch E200 and neoTouch (or newTouch if you live in the US or France). You’ll notice the Liquid is a dead banner at the moment, because I haven’t had time to write the content yet!!!
Give me a couple of days…
Anyway, make sure you sign up to the Acer Community and check out the Spinlets feature as this is going to be a really cool app on the Android phones as well as the urFooz cards.

While I was writing that last article on Acer overtaking Dell to become the world’s second largest PC vendor, I scrolled down the comments to the Engadget article and came across this one from Dest.
OK, it’s his opinion and as he says in his post it’s subjective, but I think this comment needs to be published and maybe discussed a little further but The Acer Guy readers.

Who’d have thought I’d be sitting here in my creative bunker writing this post so soon after my last one?
Well, obviously Gianfranco Lanci did as he’s been dropping hints everywhere.
If you take a look at this chart from those number crunchers over at Gartner, you’ll notice that something very important has happened:
