Dear Michael, I’ve been so busy picking up rubbish that I haven’t had time to fill you in on those busy weeks leading up to the event. The cleanup was a great success and now it’s time to tell you about how we made it happen. It all started with mapping the rubbish… RUBBISH MAPPING [...]
Know your Li-ion Laptop Battery

Source: http://www.batteryuniversity.com and http://uber.la/archives/1232 * A typical lithium-ion battery provides approximately 300-500 discharge / charge cycles. * Avoid frequent full discharges because this puts additional strain on the battery. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are better for lithium-ion than one deep one. Recharging a partially charged lithium-ion does not cause harm because there is [...]

Many years ago, I learned that our own limits were like walls surrounding us. They gave us a sense of security, dimension and perspective; they allowed us to get to know everything about the world inside because at the same time they protected us from the world outside. I also learned that people are afraid of breaking down those walls and overcoming their limits, as they’re frightened of losing the sanctuary that limits offer. So if happiness awaits those who overcome their limits, we’re actually taught to fear happiness.
Balls I say. I don’t know about you but I’m all for happiness…

Acer is a little bit faster.” So now you know…

Earthrace – the new challenge.

Remember my involvement with the Earthrace initiative? Well first of all, here’s what Earthrace has become:
The reason I’m writing is that we’ve finally managed to start the bureaucratic ball rolling and are leaping through hoops of fire to try and get them some Acer Timeline notebooks in time for departure.
Getting Acer involved in this is no ordinary feat. The Acer Guy will always be a safety net for any involvement in this but you’ve got to admit this is one hell of politically charged mission: In Pete’s own words, “there will certainly be some risks involved and hopefully we will come back in one piece“. You can just imagine the looks on the faces of the suits in Acer when this proposal lands on their desk for approval later on today.
