@JR,

You should be able to do a custom install as the hardware supports Windows 7 itself.

Here should be the drivers you can use from vista for 7:

Bluetooth
Camera (webcam)
Cardreader
Modem
Touchpad
VGA

You can get the audio driver for 7 from www.realtek.com.tw

Anyone tried upgrading the Aspire 5670?

Upgrade advisor tells me the machine can run it but there are no official drivers through Acer.

A quick online search shows lots of driver packs on sale from 3rd parties; but little more info.

With the launch of Microsoft's newest technology known as Windows 7 last October 22, 2009, a lot of computer users are trying to wonder about hardware and software updates that they might need to upgrade to Windows 7. Do you wonder how it is to find and install this version's printer driver for your HP printers?

I have an acer aspire x1200. After upgrading from windows vista to windows 7 home premium (using the free acer upgrade kit) I am unable to burn cd/dvd. Blank disks are not recognised. Everything else works fine. I contacted acer support; they recommended installing the latest chipset which I did but the problem persists. I also followed the instructions given by windows support editing the registry (deleting upper and lower filters) but nothing has changed. Can you give me any suggestions?

Quick question. I ran the acer upgrade wizard and get as far as the "select model" page but my model is not listed even though it is eligible for the upgrade. Acer sent me a "patch" kit but it didn't change anything (ran it a few times). All of a sudden when I call acer they are telling me my warranty is up and can't help me. I bought my computer 2 months ago and am not happy with the "customer service" acer has provided me so far. I am wondering if I select a different model number when installing how bad it will screw up my computer. I would take it back to the store for help installing the upgrade but that's an hour away! Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!

Got a 4810TZ with Vista then got the Acer Win 7 upgrade disks. The upgrade went reasonably smoothly except I experienced the DVD going AWOL. I tried the registry fix but I'm not sure what actually fixed it. All my software was still there except Winlocker. I contacted Acer who were no help at all. They suggested that it wasn't available on Win 7. Then I found it along with all the other pre-installed software. It gets installed by the Acer drivers and software DVD. But ionly t can be accessed through the Windows Mobility Center in Control Panels. Acer have added a couple of buttons on it.

My problem has been that dual screen no longer works properly using any video driver. The Win 7 driver is hopeless. The best results have been using the old Vista driver. Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm thinking of trying a clean install but using a different hard drive so I can go back if it doesn't work.

Rick; if it is a quickcam - you may be out of luck. Many of the older models (like zoom) don't have drivers for vista/7. Strangely I had mine working through vista via virtualbox of XP.

I got 7 installed by removing sobi, quickcam drivers, and itunes. Then it went. But it blew away my virtualbox network driver. Took me a while to figure that out. And my HP 6500 stuff didn't work under 7 - I had to get an update - and it didn't update several files - so had to resort to a clean install. Now my printer works too.

My only trouble now is I cannot shut down my machine. It bluescreens every time.
