567,861. That’s the number of Unique Visitors to this site in 2009 and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank every single last one of you for an amazing year. Let’s just say that without you, 2010 wouldn’t be shaping up to be the year I hope it’s going to be.

This time of year is great to look back and see how far you’ve come, the lessons you’ve learned and plan ahead for the year to come. I love Google Analytics as it gives a great picture of the statistics without touching too much on the relevance, which I’ll come to in a moment.

As this site is more about you than it is about me, I’m delighted to publish what is a particularly interesting overview of 2009. For all of you interested in a year-end round up of stats, here they are (from Jan 1 – Dec 22). Enjoy!!

What’s popular?
Well, again, Google has the answer with 5.59% (65,977) going for a generic home page followed by 4.55% (53,613) heading straight to the Forum. In third place with 4.17% of all the traffic for 2009 (49,221) was the “wireless problems with the aspire one” article which shows how troublesome this was while in fourth place with 3.81% or (44,970) was the “aspire one recovery” piece which begs the question “couldn’t they have made it easier?”. Finally, in fifth place with 3.56% (41,986) is the “Acer orbicam fix” article which I find incredible as it dates back to the introduction of Vista….

As far as the Forum is concerned: (remember the Forum only started one year ago)

More important to me though is the “relevance” of the site. “Relevance” isn’t just a marketing ploy – it means having a profound understanding of context, popularity, authority and reputation. It means playing a meaningful role to committed consumers who give their attention to us because of their relevance. How you see it in Google Analytics, is how they come to you and how long they stay.

The number of visitors who come here from Search Engines (81.80% of all traffic for 2009) shows that the site still ranks particularly well for content and authority. But what is just as interesting is the growing number of referring sites – that is, sites that link here which have skyrocketed (+9.11%) as well as direct traffic which has also seen a healthy increase (+5.80%). Also if you look at the returning visitors percentage wise it’s slightly up on last year which means the site is becoming a reference for many Acer users and that’s by far the greatest achievement to date.

Some of you might say that 567,861 visitors isn’t a lot for a site with a global footprint like TheAcerGuy. I couldn’t agree more so get ready for some magic in 2010.
