5534-1096 screen colors not normal while on battery

    Hi,

Since I bought my Aspire 5534-1096, when I am running on battery, the colors on the screen look very vivid, specially white. It looks like they wash out over each other. It is hard to see the edge of things since the colors are so intense. Silver looks almost white, and you need sunglasses to look at anything white. I tried a lot of settings. The brightness control is all the way down and it doesn't help. It is more like a contrast problem. If I go to ATI's CCC and lower the contrast, it helps a little but not much. I left the power options as they were off the factory (after messing with them a little.)
When I plug power to it, colors go back to normal. Very strange.
I wonder if this is just an isolated issue or if it is a know problem with this model.
If anyone has any suggestions, I will certainly appreciate them.

    Thank you very much,

    Mariano

disable power play or at least change it back to maximum performance, it probably dropped color depth to save battery life.
