Has anyone here been successful in upgrading a 8920G to Windows 7? Are all the necessary device drivers and Acer apps readily available? What are the challenges, if any?

I was just trying to find out the same thing. I have read about BIOS neeing to be flashed to a customised 1.15 version. Is this really required? The acer webseite is not listing any specific W7 drivers

I've got a 5920G that installed Windows 7 fine. I just had windows find the drivers off windowsupdate.com . There are device drivers for Windows 7 for the hardware, they're just not on Acer's website because Acer hasn't offically tested them. But they will work fine.

I've Instaled Windows 7 Ultimate on my 8920G. The OS is prety good but some devices are not working like the webcam and the wireless adapter. Plus I haven't found the Acer Arcade Deluxe software and it isn't available on Acer's website.

I've upgraded to Windows 7 on my 8920G. Most, if not all, drivers seem to be available on the Acer site (remember to change OS drop-down); several seem to have been upgraded.

The only problem I seem to have related to Win7 is that the Cinedash volume control doesn't work. I've kept a disk with an image copy of my Vista system and can confirm it works if I boot Vista, so it's clearly a software issue.

Since I upgraded, the Arcade Deluxe software is the same version which was installed under Vista, so I didn't need to reinstall that. I haven't looked, but think that version should be on the Apps recovery disk.

Yes, now 8920G has Windows 7 in the list.
Have you tried the touchpad driver? it should be the same driver for CineDash.
    Let us know the result.

I've upgraded the touchpad driver to 14.0.0.3 (w7) but thought it was Launch Manager which handled the Cinedash console. I've tried various versions of that without success.

I'm using all the Vista versions of Acer software under Windows 7 with few problems. The Cinedash volume conrol not working correctly is the only outstanding issue.

Post Windows 7 install, my Cinedash volume slider seems OK, but I can't play Blu-Ray disks using Arcade Deluxe - or the latest PowerDVD either (also by CyberLink - doesn't like the NVIDIA 9500m graphics card).

    Anyone else had any luck?
