AA1 - Screen doesn't turn on after RAM upgrade
(4 posts)-
Hi all
I just upgraded RAM on my Acer Aspire One (HDD version), disassembled as per YouTube video, without a hitch. Removed the 512 mb Samsung memory, put a 1 gb Buffalo memory, put it all back together - screen doesn't turn on anymore. I was extremely carefull not to break anything, and didn't scratch anything, and didn't rip any wires from anywhere, but I think the problem is the LCD/Webcam/Microphone connector. Any ideas? It is in a good shape, but I do not want to send it in to Acer as those monkeys will format the HDD and try to put Windows XP back on it (and I'm still waiting for that refund), but I'm afraid I might have to do that anyway...
thanks for reading this!

the buffalo memory could be bad or incompatible. remove the buffalo and try turning the unit on with no memory installed. if it boots, then it is the buffalo memory.
you need not reinstalled the old memory as this unit will still have 512MB on the mainboard. this should make testing easier.
