Hi there. I have an Acer 7720G and upgraded to windows 7. I noticed an overheating problem after the upgrade and I have a friend who has an Acer 5520 who also had a similar problem when she upgraded to Windows 7. However she flashed her bios to the most recent version and now it runs smooth as silk.

So I then tried flashing my bios from version 1.43 to 1.45 to rectify my problem but BIG MISTAKE! I now have a laptop that loads windows up until the login stage when I am then greeted with a blue screen and the laptop then restarts. It then comes back on telling me to do a repair which I have tried but am then told it can't be repaired!

I have tried booting into safe mode but cant even do that! Please can somebody tell me how I can flash the bios back to version 1.43 from a bootable cd as the bios instruction from the Acer website require you to flash from windows but I can't get into windows! I really would appreciate any help and advice you guys could give me as this is driving me nuts :o)

If you still have problems I would try to repair the installation with the windows disk, or a reinstall

    default options on bios?

    good luck

Hiren's boot CD also has Mini XP on it that has worked in the past for myself when flashing a BIOS on an Acer laptop.

However using a windows disk (please use the correct version) may well solve your problem.
