   hello my acer aspire 5542 3 months old when volume turned up to 50% high pitch noise coming out of speaker any input would be great its driving me crazy thanks

   Solution 1:
   Please check both your Microphone and the microphone settings. As I've experienced it, the microphone is on and changes volume as soon as you increase volume - Then it causes a feedback loop THUS the loud pitch noise

   Solution 2:
   As I've experienced, there was another unit that had a Virus on. The Virus infected the sound drivers and the sound software THUS producing the high pitch noice

   Solution 3:
   As I've experienced, the mainboard had a function failure. It had something to do with microphone Jacks and processing.

   Personally, and the most used would be solution 1. The other two solutions helped a few times but came in rarely. If the problem remains and you can't solve it, try installing a plug-in micro and removing [unplug] the onboard one from inside your LCD casing.
