   Hello all my daughter got the above laptop delivered on the 29th of april 2009 and when the mains power lead is plugged in the laptop won't boot past the vista account login screen. If booting from the battery there is no problem but if i boot from the battery and then plug the mains lead in the screen goes straight off.

   I have tried removing the battery and the fn and f5 and fn and - & + as mentioned in the manual. Also have tried the alt + f10 and still the problem persists. I can boot into safe mode with the mains lead in but not to normal vista which she needs.

   I have little experience with laptops being a pc person and i am completely stumped by this. Any help is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance.

   Hmm very strange problem, never came across this one before, but it doesnt sound good, i would send it to acer, no DIY-try-this-try-that kind of problem if you ask me.

   On the other hand ;) you could try a different adapter, if you have the option...
