   hi all , i Have an acer aspire 9423 and when i switch it on the lights illuminate an the back light of the screen comes on but there is no picture on the screen at all , also i cannot hear any fans kicking in or anything , however if i insert a disc i can hear the drive reading the disc,. If any one has any ideas it would be much appreciated , thanks

   Hi,

   I had a similar problem on my Aspire 8920G. Try to remove one memory module. I it doesn't work, put it back on and remove the other module. One of my memory slots (motherboard) has gone and I experienced the same problems.

   off topic: Don't buy an Acer again!
