I bought an Acer One two weeks ago (early Feb 2009). Everything was fine until a few nights ago, and it stopped seeing any wireless networks. A few things to note:

    1) When I connect a network cable to the acer, it recognizes the internet.
    2) I have two other wireless computers in the house, and they recognize my wireless and connect fine.
    3) There are many wireless connections where I live (from different neighbors), and the acer doesn't see *any* of them.
    4) No, the wireless switch is not 'off'.

It seems like the wireless part of the acer is no longer working. I've contacted tech support, but no answer from them yet. I have two questions:

    1) Could there be something I could do to get it to work that I'm not thinking of?
    2) If I were to buy a USB wireless card, would that actually work?

    TIA,
    Ed

Never mind!! I thought that wireless switch was like the wireless switch on my laptop: that is, move it in one direction, and it is 'on', move it the other way and it is 'off'. The Acer does not work like that. Instead, it is a toggle: move it over, and it goes to 'off' (and the switch springs back to the original position). Move it over again, and it switches to 'on' (and the switch moves back to the original position). I must have accidentally switched it off at some point and didn't realize it. Oddly, the manual does not indicate precisely how this switch actually operates. Hopefully this might help someone else.
