   Hi I got my laptop about a month ago and up-grade to win7 32bit with the acer win7 upgrade disks, ever since then my sound keep going distorted and crackling from time to time (not all the time) Also my blu-ray drive is not seeing blank dvd's or cd's so I cant do a system back up like windows is asking me. It still plays Blu-rays and dvd's fine but just cant burn it disk.

   Please please help really losing faith in acer.

   Remove the dvd device from the device management, restart your laptop. Windows should detect dvd-drive as a new device and install the neccessary drivers.

   Now try if it works.

   I had similar problem with windows vista and that solved my problem.

   Mine also has a problem with the Sound, I can play music fine for a while then when I stop and then go back to my music the sound is all distorted, Only a restart fixes this
