apsire 5920 no sound through speakers.

    I have a 5920g and there is no sound coming through the speakers, output through hdmi and headphone socket work perfect. I've tried a total reinstallation of vista but still no sound.Ive set speakers as default device still no joy.

    did you check the internal cables?

    here is a service manual for 5920, it might help you locate the cable

    How would this happen the laptop does not get moved on a desk all the time.

    you never know, possibly due to temperature change, if the laptop is cold, and you start to do some intensive task, laptop warms up, pieces expand, move, shift a little might made the difference.
