Hi If you really are an Acer guy, you have to pay attention to this: AS1410/AS1810 have power leakage, resulting 5% battery discharge when it is off - This is NOT normal as CSR might cliam. Let's know a solution, or this may become a class action or massive recall. There should be a simple fix like putting a diode here or there. Sorry for sounding harsh, but I simply can't see any meaning reply from you for previous questions.

Could you please post links to where you see other people experiencing this issue? The more the better.

Thanks for your reply, it is appreciated!

    Simply Google

You will find many threads all over major forums. To name a few: Retailer's forum: Newegg, Amazon; Deal hunter's forum: Fatwallet, Slickdeals; Reviewer's forum: notebookreview.com; cnet.com; and many more, this is spreading.
I have got a very old Toshiba laptop, it amazed me that some crazy guy filed a lawsuit for hinge crack and I got $50 back after more than 5 year use. Vendor really needs to be careful.( http://www.satellitehingesettlement.com/ )

Many reported this issue in this lengthy thread
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/424213-acer-aspire-1410-1810-timeline-11-6-thread.html

Some say Acer has to swap PCB to fix it(Swap battery won't help), Some say certain model doesn't have this problem. So I hope Acer can review all these reports and find the bottom of this problem - Hopefully, this can be fixed by BIOS (Many tried to disable this and that to no avail)

It has been a week, any update on this problem. S5 mode should not draw this much power. It looks like Acer One users are really mad on this issue.

Looks like a new mainboard and new power button board do not resolve this issue. This is indeed related to the battery itself.

Any update on this issue? My 1410 has the exact same symptoms: 5% battery drain per day when powered off. Other forums are recommending a return to Acer for power-board replacement. Is that the only solution?

Actually no, there should be a BIOS update that comes out soon that should resolve this issue.

    Hey Acerguy --

I also have this problem on my brand new UK -- timeline 3810tz. In use, the battery lasts ages -- but that's not much use when the battery drains while it's shut down. I don't suppose you could sort out a BIOS update for this model too? ;-)

Updated BIOS from 3310 to 3314. Haven't had chance to test it out, but it appears that battery drain problem is at least alleviated.
