Aspire 5570z Windows 7 Logitech Driver
(5 posts)-
I am having problem finding the correct software for my camera. When I had Vista i was using the Logitech camera software from Acer. This software no longer works with Windows 7. I attempted to use the latest software from Logitech but when I tried to install it said my camera is unsupported. It appears that Acer has stooped using Logitech cameras in their notebooks. The Camera is currently using a generic Microsoft driver, but I want to take full advantage of the 1.3MP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I assume you're talking about the built in webcam in your laptop? It would be helpful to know exactly what model you have. Otherwise there isn't much we can do to even attempt to help you.

I have the same problem. My laptop is Acer Aspire 5635wlmi and Windows 7 Professional. The webcam built in the laptop. I think it is a Logitech Orbicam (OEM).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

i don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me under RC1.
download the vista drivers for the ferrari 1000 (might work with others, but this is what I did).
extract the files and you will see a bunch of folders. Do not run the setup application in the root folder.
instead manually update the driver by pointing to the appropriate x32, or x64 in the "drivers" folder.
after drivers are loaded, then install the orbicam application. Once again, not the main setup file.
go to the "orbicam" folder then x32 or x64 depending on your OS, then run the actual "orbicam.msi" file.
This worked for me and the systray app will show up as well.
give it a shot.
