   Ok so ive just signed up on here to see if there is anyone that can help me.

   We just bought the Aspire one a few weeks ago and have been busy playing around finding our way around it etc.
   What i want to know is if it is possible to customize the desktop. I think Acer have put some sort of locked background on it or something because it seems to me by going through all the settings that it should be possible but this stupid grey acer background is just fixed and wont budge.

   If you go into the settings manager and desktop prefrances it has all the different settings to put your own image in the background etc so i dont see why it isnt working.

   I know its just a silly wee thing but its frustrating me so much so if anyone knows how to do it PLEASE help me lol.

   you can change it, but you would have to get to advanced mode and perform some linux commands.

   I hope you bought the AOD250. It is Windows 7 starter edition, you could not change the wallpaper

   going by the post date of a year ago, I doubt the windows 7 version was out yet.
