    Hi Acer fans,
Hope somebody can help me with following "battery" questions.

I am working on an Aspire 9423WSMi, and my (original) battery needs to be replaced. When checking online stores, I saw that two types are available : 11.1V & 14.8V.
When checking I saw that my old battery is 11.1V.

    Now my questions are
    - Can I replace the 11.1V by a 14.8V battery without damaging my laptop? (Found some people saying yes others no, on several forums)
    - A higher capacity nbr (mAh) is letting you work longer, but is the Voltage also influencing ?
    - My AC adaptor is currently really very hot, is this related to the battery being almost dead ?

    TIA

    Hello DJSpiker,

Please buy the battery that has the same voltage as your original battery as the one with the high voltage might trigger a nuclear explosion when you attemp to use it.

The mAh is, like you said only for indicating the Amperes it holds - The more the merrier. A Battery with high mAh will keep the laptop running longer when on battery power.

    [EDIT]
The being Hot A/C issue is normal. Obviously you shouldn't be able to fry eggs & bacon on it. It usually gets a bit warm when charging. I hope you have a proper original A/C adapter with the correct specs - And I hope you DID NOT already install the battery with the higher voltage :S
