   Hello.

   I'm hoping somebody might take pity on me and point me in the right direction -

   I've been downloading the latest drivers for my Acer Aspire 8920G Notebook from the Acer UK Website - and I've noticed that they have recently revamped the download section of the site - in doing so, they have removed the driver for the webcam that is in my notebook - I know it is a Chicony webcam - as it is listed in Program and Features (Vista Control Panel) - Publisher for the Acer Crystal Eye webcam entry.

   They now only have the Suyin driver for the camera listed - I need the Chicony driver - does anybody have a link to the latest driver at all?

   try the US site. then do an advanced knowledge base search. look for chicony.

   or

   burn your first recovery disc, and then look in the DRV or APP directories. It should have all drivers you will need for your unit.

   The US site has exactly the same content as the UK one - same new layout, same new driver content... I'll try and see whether I can extract the driver from the recovery discs I made when I bought the computer...

   that's because you are searching by model.

   instead, click on knowledge base, then click advanced search, then enter chicony.

   it gives like 20+ results. The driver and application will work on any unit.

   oh yeah, use IE as it does not work with firefox

   I've looked on the recovery disc(s0 and there is no DRV or APP directories...

   There are a lot of files ending in .mui and .001, .002, .003 etc..

   Any chance you could post a link to those search results - all I get after doing the advanced search on the US site is "No results found"

   hi did you get sorted? i have a spare recovery disc for the 8920g which includes the driver chicony v1.1.55.312..
