Connecting an 8930 to 802.11n

MemberI just realized after some time, that my wireless was only connecting at wireless-g. I was sure that the computer is capable of 802.11n so I switched my WAP to N-only, and can't connect. I am running encryption and read you can't run n and encryption both. Has anybody figured out how to connect using N and encryption both?
