euro key
(9 posts)-
i have an acer aspire 0ne AOD 250.
pressing alt-gr + 5 does not produce a euro character even tho the euro sign is printed on the key.
is there any way i can get this to work?
thanksPosted 2 years ago # -
You know, I noticed, after reading your post, that it doesn't work on my machine or several others I've tried. Seems to be non-vendor specific. If I come across something I'll post it.

@nougat Try this: alt-gr + e. I'm wondering if you have a US spec keyboard and a European software... Over here (in Europe) it's alt-gr + e
Just a thought...

thanks for your replies.
alt-gr +e does not work.
the netbook was purchased from usa altho i am in europe.the only thing i managed was to change the keyboard config. from eng-us to eng-uk - but this resulted in alt-gr 4 (instead of alt-gr 5)
producing a euro sign. however some other keys - @ sign and inverted commas - reversed positions. so that is not an acceptable solution.
i wonder if anyone has the correct keypad driver. because the one mine has installed is for a 102/104 key version which i don't think is the correct one.
any will be most appreciated.

@nougat you have a strange problem there. Simone has confirmed that it depends on the keyboard layout loaded by Windows but you're saying you have the wrong driver version...
All drivers and documentation for the AOD 250 are available from here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_one_D250.html
I'll have Simone take another peek at your last response though.

I have the new acer aspire 1810T which I already have had to send back because the keys stuck. Now I am trying to use the euro symbol on the 5 key but can't figure out how to do this. I have read the previous info and searched the web but can't find good information. There is no euro symbol in the right corner by the arrows.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem in November 2011.Acer Aspire One bought in USA.
There is a Euro sign on #5, but pressing altG+5 gives me a blank. Same with Control+ alt G+5 or Control+ alt G+5 +e.
However on world for windows only, Control+ alt G+5 +e. gives me the Euro sign..whew!
So what do you need to do to get it when writing E-mail....Posted 2 months ago # -
I have an Acer Aspire 4736z. The euro symbol does not work from the keyboard either although it is set up to accent the vowels for Spanish. Character Set for Times New Roman does not have it either. Aaaaaargh - how could a major company not make the euro symbol easy? In dollars only?!
