Flash player upgrade for AA1 running Linux lite
(7 posts)-
I play some games on Facebook but some games I want to try won't work as it says I need to upgrade Adobe Flash Player. Where can I get an update and very easy instructions on how to install it? I have Acer AA1 running Linux Lite.
Thank you,

the root password is whatever you set when you first configured your system. if you don't know it follow this.

How to change the root password for Aspire One Linpus Linux.
NOTE: passwords must be more than 6 characters.First, go to Files, then My Documents.
Under the My Documents window, go to File and then select Terminal.
Once at the terminal, type the following command and press enter.
sudo -su
This should change your prompt from a $ to a #, thus indicating elevated privileges. Then type:
passwd
It will now prompt for a new root password. Type your new password although you will not see anything, and then press enter. You will be prompted again to enter your new password again, after that the new root password is set. You may see information about bad passwords or weak passwords, especially if you choose simplistic ones like 000000 or 123456. However, it will accept any password you choose as long as it is 6 characters or more.

Thanks very much. Anothr question I would like to ask is by putting a new password in will I still be able to delete my history and empty my cache as when I first had the netbook I was unable to do those things and I can't remember what I had to do to be able to do them. Would I then be using the netbook as "root" thing or not. I'm used to Windows and Linux has completely thrown me.

you should be able to afterwards. if not, could be a problem with the OS. You can always back up your data and reload.
