hi all, anyone know how a computer idiot can find out what hard drives will be compatible with an aspire 3690? i am thinking about upgrading from the pathetically small 80GB stock HD to something more spacious. looking at the Seagate Momentus 5400.6 320 GB 5400RPM SATA (ST9320325AS) will this one work?

also, how would one recommend getting the programs etc. (excluding my own files) from one disc to the other? (no o/s cd, i'm afraid...)

    thanks a mil, mark

the hard drive should work if your current Hard drive is SATA.

as for files, look into macrium reflect. it is software that can clone an existing drive over to a new one.
