    hi i have the 8920g with the hdmi socket i want to out put to my tv or computer monitor both have hdmi but laptop wont display on either of them tried various hdmi leads nothing works my tv plus monitor r 2 years old my laptop is 6 months old is there anyway of getting my laptop to work on my tv via the hdmi thanks

    mate, plug the hdmi in and then try reducing the resolution of your display. then restart machine. should work

    HDMI may require that the display you're outputting to be the only active display. This is due to the inbuilt copyright protection in HDMI. Such issue's also happen with computers with blu-ray drives built in.

    thanks all i have tried the resolution and tried the single display nothing helps i think its got something to do with the hdcp someone said the acer is not backwards compatable my tv is about 5 years old and monitor 2 years old is there any software that will make the acer backwards compatable

    Yeah if the monitor is not HDCP compliant then there's nothing that can be done. It's the copy protection built into the high-definition formats.

    Does anyone else have a problem out putting to a hd ready to via the hdmi my sons 6930 works ok but he dont have the blueray but my 8920 dont

    Some devices don't support computer resolutions/rates over HDMI and expect only video resolutions/rates.

    If you can set your graphics adapter to "HDTV mode" then it might play better with your TV.
