Long time reader, first time poster. I had an acer 8920g since it came out and have been running the default vista operating system. i had windows 7 on another partition. i started having some compatibility issues so last night, i decided i should dual boot xp. i deleted the win7 partition and installed xp on the now blank partition. i had some problems but finally got it to work. this morning, i boot up my computer and started installing drivers, low and behold, i can't even get a boot OS menu. i cant get into my vista partition anymore. in xp i can see the vista hdd but i cant access any of the documents. all i need to do is to save my files. of course i would love to be able to keep both but if i have to choose i would choose xp. PLEASE HELP. i work in design and i NEEED access to my old partition and the files in it. the only folder i cant cet into that i need is the documents and settings folder with all the stuff on my desktop and the MY Documents folder. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP MEEEE

you will need a vista dvd to attempt to repair the installation. xp uses ntldr to load the os. vista uses bcd.
