    Hi,
i couldn't find any previous posts describing my problems so i started a new Topic.

I've aquired an Aspire Timeline 1410 (1410-232G32n) from the German Telco "o2 Germany" with a 3G Dataplan.

The Unit Came with an integrated Huawei EM770W 3G Modem but without Bluetooth.

Since it was full of preinstalled junk and had over 70 processes running on its own i decided to do a clean reinstall.

I used a Retail Windows 7 Home Premium DVD (x64) and the install went without a Problem.

But when it came to the 2 Applications Mentioned in the Topics description i ran into some problems.

The Launch-Manager will now show no OSD response to the Hardware 3G switch whatsoever, but the Bluetooth switch that before the reinstall gave a "Hardware not Present" OSD response now shows on/off toggles, but DOES nothing.

With the 3G Connection Manager it now Shows "WCDMA Connection" and GSM Connection where it was UMTS Connection and GSM Connection before.

Sure, you might say these are only minor and cosmetic problems, but i can be quite OCD when it comes to things just looking the way they are supposed to.

    Before anyone asks:
I've downloaded all the most recent drivers aswell as the most recent versions of the aforementioned applications off of acers support website, but they are clearly not the ones that were on there in the preinstall, and i have no way of accessing the recovery partition to look for device specific versions on there.

I had similar problems with an Aspire One 531h i owned previously, but that had all of the drivers and apps in a supportfolder on C:\ so i didn't have to chose between working UI and recovery to factory conditions.

So after restoring to factory settings and investigating i came up with an explaination,
    different Versions.

It turns out that the downloads on the Acer Support Website are Actualy OLDER than the ones that came preloaded on my Machine.

That is what seems to cause the incompatiblities / glitches after the fresh install.

    Acer 3G Connection Manager:
    ---------------------------
    Factory Version: 13.001.08.12.470
    Acer Support : 13.001.07.04.470

    Launch Manager:
    ---------------
    Factory Version: 3.0.0.924
    Acer Support : 3.0.0.728

That is why i would like to request help in finding the exact versions that came preloaded on the machine because i know them to work properly alternativly/additionaly maybe newer versions than the factory versions for experimentation.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi OptimismPrime!

I've had the same problem as you on a 3G Aspire One.

The solution, after a ridiculous amount of time spent, is:

Install ePower from Acer. (maybe reinstalling Launch Manager, I'm uncertain)

I checked the original version when shipped and installed that from a download.

As far as I can detect, it installs a DLL containing a system hook funktion for Fn+F2.

    Hope you get this info!

    Best regards,
    Lars
