    Hi
I have the above said projector it was working fine Friday, turned it on Monday and it is requesting a security password but I have not set this feature up nor anybody else. I have had it 9 months and its never required a password before. i have read the manual and it says the default is 1234 but this does not work. Acer less than helpful technical services want £50 to reset the software issue but my gripe is I have not alter anything to set up this feature so why do I have to pay I have trawled the www and there appears to be other people with the same problem but no solution anybody here please help
    Regards

it is a software issue. If it is under warranty, it should be covered. if it is out of warranty, then you might have to pay.

contact the acer support for your area and let them know the unit needs a firmware upgrade as well as having the EDID reprogrammed.

I too have the same problem. Bought ACER P3250 projector from Japan and came to India. AFter two weeks it stared asking password. Security password did not work. Took it to ACER service centers in Patna, Allahabad and Delhi. They said they did not know the solution and asked me to take it back to Japan for replacement. That needs another $2000 for air tickets! Any body knows the solution? Please help me.

    Hi
what does EDID stand for i have contacted the not so helpful acer support and the say yes they will fix it for £50, but if We need to replace anything else they will kindly let me know before they go ahead and fix it for more of the Queens pounds. The dam thing is now out of warranty for what its worth with Acer
