I need advice on how to get my 5920 to connect to my router. It refuses to recognise the wireless network in the house and asks me for the wep code everytime. I configered the acer net management but this still makes connecting very difficult. Any advice please.

I personally avoid using pre-loaded network management software.

If you use the built in Windows config. utility then it will most likely solve your problem.

You can find your network icon in the bottom right corner of your screen on the task bar.

Click on it and then select "connect to network" and go from there.

Instore there were a couple machines, random (an occasional HP, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Asus, etc.) that wouldn't connect with the built in software.

We just use the built in software that Vista comes with and they all work fine.

U could download and install the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection. Runs perfect (I use it on my machine).

I have uninstalled the scer e management programme. all was ok for 2 days and now its back to its old tricks again. It will not recognise the network. As soon as I type in the ssid and click cancel the network appears and all is ok. I have never seen this before. There are two other laptops in the house all using vista that connect no problem. I will try the Intel programme.

Let us know how it goes for you.

You can also try uninstalling the drivers for your network card. Restarting the computer. Then installing the latest version of the drivers for the network card. That just might do the trick as well.
