    Hi all,

I have some major problems with my Acer 6920G.

I want to record some sound that is coming from the laptop. Yes, I know I have to use the "Stereo-mix".

I enabled the hidden audio stuff on vista.

Sometimes this WORKS (recording audio) but mostly it just doesn't work.

Whenever a sound/music is playing in the background, you won't see the green bar going up or down. It's like he doesn't picking up any sound.

I think it is a driver problem... But how to solve it? I also tried out the latest drivers: 6.0.1.5821

Any help would be very appreciated! :)

    Some info:

    Acer 6920G
Realtek High definition audio (Driver version: 6.0.1.5821)
    Vista SP1

You should use the "realtek-output"setting. But no its not a driver problem, its just a windows setting that has to be correct. Google on this, you should find enough how-to's.

I also would like to try and get Audacity, a recording program to work with the 8920G. The program does not pick up an output other than the Mic. Also what hidden sound options are you talking about.

On Windows Vista, the stereo-mix is by default disabled. If you click with the right mouse button on the speaker (on the taskbar), then click on the 'Recording' (I don't know what's it called exactly, since I have a Dutch Windows).
Now right click on the new window and select "show hidden devices".

You will see that the stereo-mix is disabled. You can enable this. It IS enabled by me, but just sometimes when I want to work with audacity or any other program (Like recording a sound to with Windows Live Messenger) it doesn't capture it :(

And sometimes it DOES work... Very strange...
