   Hi, I have an acer aspire one. Today I have been experiencing a problem. Everytime I close my screen, it shuts down. Every single time.
   The catchy part is, it will not turn back on when i hit the on button whether the ac/charger is plugged or not. if i take out the battery then replace it, then hit the on button it will come on, but only if i remove and replace the battery.
   Anyone have a solution?? it has never been dropped, so im stumped on this.

   for windows at least.

   it's probably going into hibernation. you can either change what action the lid does, or press and hold the power button for a good second and then let go.

   it should resume normally. a quick press to the power button will usually not work while in hibernation.

   Thanks for answering but I have the hibernation turned off, disabled in the settings.
   I also do hold the button down a long time more than a second. It will only restart if i remove the battery then put the battery back in. But if i close the screen, i have to do this all over again.

   in that case it could be a bios issue. try updating the bios.
