upgrading a processor on 5335

    can the processor on a 5335 be upgraded too a dual core??

    i have a celron and would like to get it replaced. also what processor if any will fit??

    Since I don't have one infront of me and google wasn't a big help...

    But it *appears* to be a socket P processor. Based on the chipset a core 2 duo with a 667Mhz FSB *should* work.

    THEN AGAIN....

    There's no way for me to know if the CPU is soldered onto the motherboard. That would be quite rare but I have seen it.

    Hi,

    From the few that have passed my workbench in the repair center the CPU is not soldered to the mainboard for that model, and Peter is quite right core 2 duo with 667Mhz FSB should work

    got a 5335 aspire in front of me.

    chipset is gl40
    fsb is 667

    I have tried a core 2 duo t7200 and it didnt post.

    anyone know what the fastest cpu this will handle yet?
